(CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – September 4th, 2025) – In front of a packed house on a hot, sunny Labour Day Monday afternoon at Oyster Bed Speedway, three more Prince Edward Island stock car racing drivers achieved greatness, etching their names into history, on top of multiple others recording career-best results and accomplishments.

The 40th Anniversary Labour Day Monday Madness Stock Car Races & Demolition Derby, presented by Charlottetown Bottle & Metal and A&S Scrap Metals, on September 1st, featured six stock car racing classes, with three crowning champions and one contesting the first-ever Maritime Bandolero championship round on Prince Edward Island.

Before post-race tech, Ryder Smith (#43, Beginner), Ethan Hicken (#5), and Bristol Matthews (#99) all emerged victorious in the Tim’s Corner Motorsports Bandolero September Shootout across a 15-lap Beginner feature and two 25-lap Bandolero features. All results remain unofficial. Nineteen (19) Bandoleros, including Beginners, took part in this round, sponsored by St. Louis Bar & Grill, Mallard Electric, and Conway Customz, for the TCM Bandolero Road Trip

In the final championship round for the Fitzpatrick Consulting Street Stocks, it was all “Fords” (unrelated) coming up triumphant. Two-time champion Colton Ford (#35) ended his return to racing on a high note with a second 25-lap feature win this season, passing rookie Devin Gallant (#36) with under 10 laps remaining en route to the victory.

Meanwhile, veterans Matthew Ford (#86) and Mike Duskey (#42) entered the event separated by five points and ended it the same way, ultimately awarding Ford his first career championship 15 years after his first Street Stock campaign in 2010. It was a feel-good story for Ford, considering a violent hit in June had many people thinking his season was done. But, with the help of Mark Maclean and others, he was back up and running just weeks later.

Gallant had his best performance of his first year in the division, scoring his first career win in his semi race and later coming home second in the caution-free feature. With his fourth-place points finish, which is one position better than how he entered Labour Day, he is now officially the 2025 Street Stock Rookie of the Year.

Duskey rounded out the podium ahead of Matthew Ford and Randy Millar (#77), with the latter placing third in the championship. Millar and Duskey won the 12-lap heat races, while Keaton Vessey (#001) and Colton Ford won the 12-lap semi races. There were a season-high thirteen (13) cars that took the green flag for the championship finale.

Chase MacKay (#71) joined Matthew Ford as another driver to hang on in a championship battle that was at a five-point gap between first and second going into Labour Day, becoming the first Oyster Bed Speedway Legends champion since Kyle Mceachern in 2019.

Things got interesting after the 10-lap PiccottCare Legend Super Series heat and semi races, as second-place Tanton Wooldridge (#0) won both ahead of MacKay and created a one-point deficit within the top two heading into the 30-lap feature, forming a winner-takes-all showdown. Unfortunately, Wooldridge’s hard charge was quickly dashed on lap two after major contact with Stephen Piccott Jr. (#34). MacKay would go on to dominate most of the 30-lap feature, albeit with a brief challenge from Campbell Delaney (#9).

Delaney and Piccott Jr. finished on the podium, with rookies Cole Doyle (#12) and Wyatt Peters (#33) achieving top-fives. Piccott’s finishes helped him jump Doyle for third in the championship. Brodie Lewis (#07H) placed a strong sixth in his Legends debut. Nine cars partook in the final point-paying races for the Legends.

After 10 years of trying and frustration within 4-cylinder racing, Jordan LeClair (#47) became Oyster Bed Speedway’s next Moore Well Drilling Outlaw champion with a stellar enough performance – finishes of third, fourth, and second – to secure him his first career divisional title.

Initially, it was Brandon Forsyth (#3) claiming a wild final 20-lap Outlaw feature win of the season, on top of a heat race victory; however, after post-race tech, Bradley Richard (#49) wound up with his first career triple win and an incredible leapfrog from seventh to second in the championship, showcasing an outstanding late-season performance where he found himself in the right places at the right times.

Rookie Cash Bridges (#69) cracked the feature podium to conclude his first season in Outlaws, with his other results earning him and the “ol’ Mistress 2” Toyota an overall championship podium finish. Brady Albert (#12) and Jeff Bridges (#95) were awarded top-five finishes after post-race tech.

Richard was joined by Corey Bridges (#04) and Jonathan Fitzpatrick (#78) in Palmer Automotive and Truck Center victory lane for the qualifiers. A fourteen (14) car field was on the grounds, with many dealing with hefty post-race tech results. Rod Pettigrew (#33) made his Oyster Bed Speedway debut in the former Dre Folland-owned Honda.

Corbin MacAulay (#17) became the newest Chris’s Bobcat Services Mini Stock winner on Monday, saving the best day of his career and his sophomore season for the track’s biggest event of its 40th anniversary season, collecting heat and feature race victories.

In one of the most intense and exciting races contested by the division this year, MacAulay held off multiple cars across a long green-flag run and late-race restart for the 20-lap feature win, with the final battle with veteran Randy MacTavish (#76) being an instant classic of respectful, side-by-side fighting for glory.

Championship points leader and reigning Rookie of the Year Campbell Stewart (#3) finished third, with his qualifier runs of fourth and first putting him at 55 points above Ricky Bedell (#2) heading into the division’s finale next Saturday. Austin Corrigan (#10) and Bedell rounded out the feature top-five. Mikey MacDougall (#7), in his first start since the Victoria Day Season Opener in May, was en route to a potential podium finish until a late-race incident that led his car into the turn two trees.

Nine (9) cars participated in the penultimate round for the Mini Stocks, with only eight (8) taking the feature green flag; reigning feature winner Adam Holland (#01) had his Labour Day run cut short on just the first lap of the heat race after a hard hit to the turn two outside wall.

Congratulations to Jordan LeClair, Chase MacKay, and Matthew Ford on their championships!
