(CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. – March 1, 2025) – Oyster Bed Speedway management is excited to unveil the track’s 2025 stock car racing schedule for its 40th-anniversary season.
The 2025 calendar for Prince Edward Island’s only paved stock car racing oval features 12 events between Victoria Day Long Weekend in May and the second weekend of September, each bringing a combination of seven stock car racing divisions and five regional touring series from across the Maritimes.
The engines will roar to life in Oyster Bed Bridge on the afternoon of Sunday, May 18 with the traditional Victoria Day Long Weekend Season Opener and Demolition Derby starting at 2pm. From there, the racing action moves to nine Saturday nights between May and August.
The season will end with two must-see events on back-to-back weekends in early September. The final leg begins on Monday, September 1 with the popular Labour Day Races and Demolition Derby. It concludes with a special Saturday night season finale on September 6 featuring two regional touring series races and the 15th annual Piston Cup Street Stock 100.
The Beginner and Outlaw Bandolero divisions will contest their championships across nine events together. After their points finale on August 16, the Tim’s Corner Motorsports Bandolero Road Trip comes to town with the fourth annual September Shootout as each division’s non-points event on September 1.
The Mini Stock and Honda Outlaw divisions will each compete in 10 events and contest one extended-distance feature during the season. The fourth annual RE/MAX Rumble returns as the Outlaw division’s special non-points race on the traditional Canada Day Weekend date on Saturday, June 28. The Street Stock division will sanction races across 10 events, crowning a champion after nine on September 1 and contesting its annual marquee non-points race one week later on September 6.
For the first time since 2019, the Legends division will award a championship with a four-race schedule, bringing back an important step on the Maritime stock car racing career ladder for young, aspiring P.E.I. racers. The V6 Bomber division, first introduced in 2024, is back for a second year carrying an increased six-race schedule.
The Easy-Kleen Super Late Model Series, Atlantic Canada’s newest stock car racing series, will return for the third consecutive year since its inauguration in 2023, with round three on Saturday, June 14 and round five on Saturday, August 2. While the first race will be a traditional 150 laps, the second race is expected to become the track’s first extended-distance race at over 150 laps since 2009; the format and lap count will be announced in the near future. It will also be the penultimate race before the series’ championship finale at Petty International Raceway two weeks later.
The Maritime Pro Stock Tour is back for its 23rd year of racing on P.E.I. but will bring a twist in 2025. The popular regional touring series will host two races at the quarter-mile oval rather than one for the first time since 2022. The first stop will be on Saturday, July 26, with round six being the “monkey in the middle” race between the IWK 250 and Summer Clash 250. The second stop will be on September 6 as part of the track’s season finale and be the Tour’s penultimate race before its championship finale at Scotia Speedworld on September 20.
The Cross Roads Maritime League of Legends Tour will also make two trips across the Confederation Bridge for the first time since 2022, joining the Easy-Kleen Super Late Model Series with round three on August 2 and making their return alongside the Maritime Pro Stock Tour with round eight on September 6.
The Heart of a Champion Hot Rod Classics will visit the Island on August 2 and continue a successful partnership with Oyster Bed Speedway by showcasing vintage race cars, keeping the industry’s heritage on Canada’s east coast alive, and entertaining Island fans with a blast from the past.
Stay tuned for more important announcements as the season approaches, including new and returning marketing partners, nightly promotions, ticketing information, and more. Rain dates will be announced when necessary. Please note that the 2025 schedule is subject to change without notice.
