(CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. – January 15, 2025) – We recently learned with great sadness about the passing of Kirk Beaton, a beloved member of the Oyster Bed Speedway community and Maritime stock car racing community.

Beaton, 37, was a proud friend of, sponsor for, and member of the MacEwen Motorsports/Beaton Racing team, pioneered by former Oyster Bed Speedway champion and multi-time Maritime Pro Stock Tour winner Robbie MacEwen.

Beaton’s love and passion for motorsports was visible to everybody within his family and friendships. He was a dedicated customer, friend, and member of the Toy Master family as an avid snowmobiler. At the race track, his bubbly attitude, radio shenanigans, and integral contributions to making MacEwen’s racing career successful were cherished greatly.

His presence across all motorsports, especially at Oyster Bed Speedway and all other tracks where MacEwen raced and claimed victories, will be forever missed and never forgotten. It’s truly an honour to know that it was on our grounds where — last July — MacEwen, Beaton and the rest of the MacEwen Motorsports team experienced one last big victory together in the 2024 BJ’s Truck Centre 150 for the Maritime Pro Stock Tour. It was their first regional competition feature win in five years — ironically, their last one came at the same place in the same race.

On behalf of Oyster Bed Speedway, our sincerest condolences go out to his family, including his wife Brittany and father Junior, his friends, and everybody else whose life was positively impacted by him.

Kirk Beaton was 37 years old. Rest in peace.
