The management of Oyster Bed Speedway continues to ramp things up with the 2023 season on the horizon and the traditional season-opener and demolition derby within a month and two weeks.

In light of the ramp-ups, a new face has been added to the management team.

Oyster Bed Speedway is proud to introduce the new social media, marketing, and communications man, Reegan MacAulay!

A student in the Holland College Journalism & Communications program, Reegan will assist with creating & producing social media content, managing social media operations, and providing support for marketing & communications.

“As an Oyster Bed Speedway fan for years, I consider this a long time coming,” MacAulay said.

“I’ve been passionate about the wonders of motorsports and social media for my whole life, and being given the opportunity to work at the island’s premier auto racing facility is truly special.

“It’s going to be an exciting year for the track and I can’t wait to experience and experiment with how spicy we’ll get with our online presence.”

MacAulay joins the Oyster Bed Speedway family with many experiences within social media, photography, and broadcasting, including the 2023 Canada Winter Games, the Holland College Hurricanes athletics program, the Charlottetown Bulk Carriers Knights MU18 hockey team, and the Canadian eMotorsports Network sim racing operation.

He also operates a YouTube channel focused on Canadian motorsports, mainly featuring videos focused on the NASCAR Pinty’s Series. Last year, he created two vlog-style videos at Oyster Bed.

“It’s funny to think, last summer, I was acting like this random YouTuber fresh out of high school at my province’s only asphalt short track, and then one day this year, I’m sitting in the Fournier’s office talking about the upcoming season and what I can do for it. Pretty surreal.”

Not only will he be working at Oyster Bed Speedway, but he will also be collaborating with the newly-found Super Late Model Series for its inaugural season, beginning on May 13 at Speedway 660. The series will head to Oyster Bed Speedway twice, June 17 and August 5.

“Their online presence has been outstanding, yet, the season hasn’t even started. It’s a perfect time to join the process, considering the series is something that Maritimes racers have been begging for for years, it’s brand new, and the founders have a lot of enthusiasm. Just look at the roster for only a six-race schedule. Scary competitive.

“It also makes things easier knowing the series comes to Oyster Bed twice. Those two weekends will provide plenty for an energetic social media presence, both for the track and the series.”
