(CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – June 21, 2026) – Oyster Bed Speedway completed its fourth event of the 2026 stock car racing season — the Fifth Annual RE/MAX Rumble — on Saturday, June 20th, 2026.
Five house classes and one regional touring series participated in what was a wacky, chilly, and rainy day at the 1/4-mile paved oval. 18 of 19 scheduled races took the green flag, with 16 being fully completed, two called off past halfway due to precipitation, and one being cancelled entirely. Even pre-race activities had their fair share of chaos, from a wild rollover accident during Outlaw practice to a Modified stuck throttle and woods adventure in the pits — all drivers okay!
Despite the twists and turns that the day offered from sunset till darkness, each division put on spectacular racing with strong car counts.
It was the Moore Well Drilling Outlaw Division’s marquee event, with seventeen (17) four-cylinder cars on the premises for the $1,500-to-win showdown. Sixteen (16) competed in the first and only completed feature on the day, with defending Outlaw champion Jordan LeClair (#47) missing the show after a terrifying practice crash that saw him launch off a loose wheel on the frontstretch, do a barrel roll, and land on his roof — he climbed out and walked away unharmed.
The lone 40-lap feature that ultimately became the $1,500-winning affair was seized by reigning RE/MAX Rumble winner Kody Quinn (#88), who benefited from a random draw to decide the starting lineup with a front-row start, and led every lap en route to the victory. With the subsequent cancellation of the second 40-lap feature and the decision to transfer prizes and payouts to the first feature, Quinn was crowned the first multi-time and back-to-back RE/MAX Rumble champion.
The Cape Bretoner held off Dave Matthews (#99) for the win on a late-race, green-white-checkered restart following a caution for a multi-car incident. Jonathan Fitzpatrick (#78) narrowly edged out Brandon Forsyth (#3) for the third and final podium position to be the highest-finishing Prince Edward Island car, with Cody Byrne (#67) rounding out the top five in his first 2026 start. The feature took under 15 minutes to complete under green-flag conditions.
Saturday also presented the first Atlantic Modified Tour race at Oyster Bed Speedway since 2011, with ten (10) Atlantic Modifieds making the trip over from New Brunswick for round four on the Tour’s schedule, the Arcs and Sparks Island Wide 35 presented by Oyster Bed Esso.
After a lap-three incident that took former Tour champion Yves McCray (#58) out of contention, Chris Wilson (#2w) fought off the reigning Tour P.E.I. winner Joe Hoyt (#17) for about 25 laps before the skies opened, forcing the race to be called early, handing Wilson his second win of the season. Zean Dutcher (#55) claimed the final podium spot ahead of Hal Kilfillen (#7) and TJ Leighton (#29).
Randy Storey (#92) earned Rookie of the Race honours with a season-best sixth-place finish. Dutcher and Wilson scored heat race victories.
Beyond the two headliners, four other divisions contested regular championship-point races with the usual heat-semi-feature format.
Kace Scott (#81) returned to victory lane in the Reliable Motors Beginner Bandolero division, picking up his third career triple win and third of the season ahead of Regan MacBeth (#34) and Landon MacBeth (#32). Notably, Hugh McCormack (#00) made his Bandolero debut, following in the footsteps of grandfather Kris Fournier and great-grandfather Raymond Birt, and finished fourth in all three contested races. Five (5) Beginner Bandoleros participated in Round Four.
Nova Scotia’s Bristol Matthews (#99) remains unstoppable in the Reliable Motors Outlaw Bandolero division after pulling off a third consecutive feature win and her first career trifecta at Oyster Bed Speedway. Not only that, but she remains unbeaten in all forms of competition over the past two events, and it was yet another late-race restart deciding the winner.
After coming out on top of back-to-back photo finishes, this time, Matthews edged ahead of Mason Gillis (#9) and withstood immense pressure from behind en route to the victory. Outlaw Bandolero rookie Ryder Smith (#43) scored a season-best finish of third, with Andrew O’Connor (#63) and Hunter MacKinnon (#07) also placing inside the top five.
A lap-one, seven-car incident in turn two, along with a later caution, slowed the 15-lap feature. Along with Matthews, Gillis and Irelyn Rose (#47) each collected preliminary race wins. Twelve (12) Outlaw Bandoleros were part of Round Four.
The Chris’s Bobcat Services Mini Stock division returned to the race track for the first time since Fan Appreciation Night on June 6th and produced a dramatic show. After Rosie Kitson (#13) and rookie Daniel MacIsaac (#88) dominated the heat and semi races, respectively, fans witnessed absolute pandemonium during the 20-lap feature.
With multiple big names and contenders running into trouble as the race progressed — one wreck involving points leaders Ricky Bedell (#2) and Adam Holland (#01) — the door opened for 16-year-old rookie Cali Bridges (#33) to shock the field with her first career feature win in just her third career start.
Bridges started the feature second-to-last and spun on her own on lap one, but kept going. Later, after a pair of cautions, Bridges found herself in second on a restart with six laps remaining. She trailed brother and fellow rookie Colton Bridges (#09) for a few laps until a loose moment for Colton with two laps left allowed Cali to rocket by and claim the checkered flag.
Colton settled for third as veteran Randy MacTavish (#76) stole second at the line. Chloe MacTavish (#5) and Mini Stock rookie Caycie DesRoches (#16) closed out the top five, with the latter breaking through for her first top-five feature run after tough luck during the previous two features. Nine (9) Mini Stocks were on the grounds for Round Three.
It doesn’t matter who’s driving Legend car #00, because it has yet to lose a feature at Oyster Bed Speedway in 2026, and Nathan Blackburn (#00) kept that trend alive with his Clam Diggers Clash Racing Series Legends feature win in Round Two on Saturday.
Substituting for the unavailable points leader Caden Tufts, the Nova Scotian fended off Stephen Piccott Jr. (#34) in both the semi race and 30-lap, $300-to-win feature. Piccott began the night with a heat race victory and came his closest yet to a feature breakthrough, but unfortunately, rain fell just before he could potentially steal the win.
After some post-race re-scoring due to an earlier incident, Legend rookie Ryan Smith (43) earned his first feature podium finish ahead of Wyatt Peters (#33) and Cole Doyle (#12). Eight (8) Legends partook in Round Two.

Oyster Bed Speedway returns to action next Saturday, June 27th, for Monster Madness & FMX World Tour Day — the first monster truck show at the 1/4-mile oval in nearly two decades. The event is slated to begin at 2:30pm, with a pit party commencing at 1:00pm. Stock car championship point racing continues on Saturday, July 4th, with all seven local divisions in action for a 6:00pm start.
