(CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – June 15, 2026) – Oyster Bed Speedway completed its third event of the 2026 stock car racing season — featuring the Universal Truck and Trailer 150 and PiccottCare 50 — on Sunday, June 14th, in Oyster Bed Bridge, Prince Edward Island.
Two regional touring series and three house divisions took part in the 1/4-mile oval’s first special event of the summer, which was postponed from Saturday, June 13th, to Sunday due to inclement weather on Saturday. Overcast, foggy weather led to some schedule shuffles and delays on Sunday. Still, the event went as scheduled from the green flag onward, and all classes put on excellent racing for a solid crowd mixed with Islanders and mainlanders.
The Easy-Kleen Super Late Model Series anchored the event with round three on the Series’ 2026 calendar — its first race on P.E.I. this year — the fourth annual Universal Truck and Trailer 150. Twenty-two (22) cars were on the premises and attempted to start the race. However, after “The Big One” collected five cars during a heat race, Steve Halpin (#03) and Mark LeClair (#51) did not answer the call for the feature, resulting in a twenty (20) car field for the main event.
It was yet again a race seized by “The Hurricane” Cory Hall (#83). The track’s all-time winningest Pro Stock/Super Late Model touring race winner added another trophy to his continuously filling cabinet with another dominant victory, picking up his seventh career Easy-Kleen Super Late Model Series win – his fifth in a row at Oyster Bed Speedway. Hall started fifth and charged to first by lap 17, and led every lap from there on out.
King Competition swept the podium, with former track champions Robbie MacEwen (#40) and Dylan Gosbee (#16) finishing second and third. MacEwen impressed in his second race behind the wheel of his new-to-him Fury car (first at Oyster Bed), being fastest in practice #1, winning a chaotic first heat race, and, after relinquishing the feature lead early to Hall, cruising to a strong runner-up finish.
As for Gosbee, his third straight MPI Up on the Wheel (Hard Charger) Award was earned in the most unique, astonishing way thus far this year. After sustaining significant damage in the heat race #1 incident, the KLR Motorsports team worked hard to ensure the car could race the feature. Without a frontend and with the look of an open-wheel modified racecar, Gosbee rocketed from 20th to third with patience and precision amongst some hard-fought battles.
Ryan Messer (#1) and Darren MacKinnon (#18) rounded out the top five, with MacKinnon notably returning the iconic Lefthander chassis to his home track for the first time in years — a car with origins dating back to the 1990s, and one that earned him the 2011 IWK 250 win along with numerous more Maritime Pro Stock Tour victories. Defending series champion Tanton Wooldridge (#01) started 12th, ran as high as fourth, and settled for sixth.
Past track champions Kent Vincent (#8) and Chris Hughes (#32), and Easy-Kleen Super Late Model Series rookies Clark Moore (#54) and Michael Cormier (#4) placed inside the top-10. While Vincent and Hughes were involved in the heat race #1 pileup, both were able to compete in the feature, where they scored season-best finishes. The remaining Islanders were Brandon Albert (#37) and Allison MacKinnon (#07), each facing early ends.
Three cautions slowed the roughly 53-minute race, with heat race victories earned by MacEwen, Hall, and Messer.
Right before the Universal Truck and Trailer 150, the PiccottCare Maritime League of Legends Tour kicked off the day’s feature competition with the PiccottCare 50 — round two on the Series’ 2026 calendar, and the Series’ first visit to the Island. Eighteen (18) cars took the green flag, with Nova Scotia’s Caden Tufts (#00) taking charge off a restart with six laps completed and running away from the field all the way to the checkered flag.
The current Oyster Bed Speedway Legends division points leader led 44 laps and beat runner-up Josh Langille (#18) by over five seconds — a near replica of what went down during the Series’ season opener at Petty International Raceway one weekend prior. “The Springhill Smoke” Chase Livingston (#39) claimed his first Series podium and challenged Langille hard for second during the closing laps.
Devin Wadden (#20) tied his career-best Series finish in fourth, and P.E.I.’s Stephen Piccott Jr. (#34) finished fifth with great resilience. Fast during practices and a heat race winner to begin his efforts, Piccott started second and was caught up in an early incident — coming out of it with essentially zero damage, he went on a mission from the tail end of the pack and came home with a top-five.
As for other Islanders, Wyatt Peters (#33) and Cole Doyle (#12) finished 11th and 12th, while Simon Doyle (#91) placed 16th in his Series debut, and Hunter MacKinnon (#07H) went to the pits early with an issue. Two cautions slowed the roughly 25-minute race, with Langille and Piccott grabbing heat race wins.
After the touring action wrapped up, the local classes took to the race track and put on a phenomenal show for fans. It started with a first-time feature winner, as Regan MacBeth (#34) broke through for his maiden feature triumph in a career-best performance, leading every lap of the extended 15-lap, caution-free Reliable Motors Beginner Bandolero affair. MacBeth capitalized on momentum from his earlier heat race win — his first win of any capacity in two years.
Points leader Kace Scott (#81) finished second, followed by New Brunswick rookie Dawson Brown (#26) in his first Oyster Bed Speedway start, fellow newcomer Rylie Gillis (#39), and Landon MacBeth (#32).
The Reliable Motors Outlaw Bandolero division produced a near-deja vu of the prior feature on Fan Appreciation Night, with yet another late-race restart, photo finish, and Bristol Matthews (#99) victory. This time around, however, it was a 1-2 Nova Scotia finish, and mere inches separated her and Outlaw Bandolero rookie Ben Turple (#55) at the line.
Mason Gillis (#9), and rookies Jake Campbell (#38) and Addison Veinotte (#47, substituting for Irelyn Rose), rounded out the top five. This event saw the highest car count of the season so far, with fourteen (14) cars, and Outlaw Bandolero debuts for New Brunswick’s William Silliker (#2) and Nova Scotia’s Addison MacLean (#9M). Matthews and Turple each won heat races.
To close out the day, the Fitzpatrick Consulting Street Stocks contested their second extended 40-lap feature of the season. Colton Ford’s (#35) back-to-back streak came to an end as reigning Rookie of the Year Devin Gallant (#36) decimated the field in both the heat and feature races. He led nearly every one of the 52 completed laps on the day, and the campaign’s third feature was the charm after mechanical woes took him out of the division’s prior two. It was his first Street Stock feature win and first track feature victory since before the COVID-19 pandemic.
The New Glasgow Fire Department strangleheld the podium, with Brodie MacQuarrie (#66) and Chief Kenny “The Snowstorm” Snow (#7) fighting their way to the front and even having a lengthy side-by-side battle mid-race. Defending champion Matthew Ford (#86) and multi-time titleholder Nick Chaisson (#27) closed out the top five. Ten (10) cars participated in round three for the division.

Oyster Bed Speedway returns to action next Saturday, June 20th, for the fifth annual RE/MAX Rumble — the annual marquee event for the Moore Well Drilling Outlaws — and the historic return of the Atlantic Modified Tour, their first race on P.E.I. in 15 years. They will both be supported by the Reliable Motors Beginner & Outlaw Bandoleros, Chris’s Bobcat Services Mini Stocks, and Clam Diggers Clash Racing Series Legends. The green flag is scheduled for 6:00pm.
